Lily Gladstone, Eva Green, Omar Sy On Cannes Film Festival Jury List

Next month at the Cannes Film Festival, French screen luminaries Omar Sy and Eva Green, along with Oscar-nominated actor Lily Gladstone, will serve as jurors, as announced by organizers on Monday. Gladstone, who gained acclaim for her role in Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" in 2023, will be the youngest member at 37.

Under the guidance of jury head Greta Gerwig, director of "Barbie," the esteemed panel will convene on the Cote d'Azur from May 14 to 25. Their primary task is to determine the recipient of the Palme d'Or, the festival's highest honor, from a pool of 22 films. Among these is Francis Ford Coppola's eagerly awaited "Megalopolis."

Other notable entries include Ali Abbasi's "The Apprentice," a biopic of Donald Trump, and "The Seed of the Sacred Fig" by Mohammad Rasoulof, whose attendance remains uncertain due to past government criticism.

The festival's roster has seen recent additions such as Oliver Stone's documentary "Lula" and Emma Stone's collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos in "Kinds of Kindness." Also featured are works from revered figures like Paul Schrader and Paolo Sorrentino, as well as Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Perez," starring Selena Gomez.

However, the spotlight will undoubtedly shine on Coppola's "Megalopolis," marking his return to Cannes at the age of 85, a storied filmmaker who has twice claimed the Palme d'Or.
