Princess Anne Receives Praise for Her Olympic Appearance and Return to Public Duties

Royal watchers have praised Princess Anne for her return to the Olympic stage, commending her resilience after recovering from a head injury. One commentator described her as a “trooper” for resuming public duties following the incident.

Speaking to GB News, royal commentator Michael Cole lauded the Princess after she appeared at the Paris Games to award Great Britain swimmer Adam Peaty his silver medal. Though she does not recall the June 24 incident that led to her hospitalization, doctors noted her injuries were consistent with an impact from a horse’s head or legs.

“Concussion is never a trivial matter. It’s a serious issue,” Cole said, acknowledging the severity of her injury. “But she’s a trooper. At 73, she’s showing remarkable dedication, and she was an Olympian herself.”

Cole also noted that this is not the first time Princess Anne has faced injury from a horse. He recalled her fall during the Montreal Olympics in 1986 and a similar incident at the World Championships in Kiev, emphasizing her resilience.

After a brief hospital stay, Princess Anne swiftly resumed her public duties, making her return on July 12 at the Riding for the Disabled Association National Championships in western England. As a long-time patron and president of the charity, her appearance was warmly welcomed by fans.

Comments from royal enthusiasts reflected their joy at her recovery and return: “Thank God she’s healing and looking fabulous!” and “Good to see the Princess Royal back. Can’t keep a good woman down, welcome back Anne.”

Anne’s rapid return to her duties is in line with her reputation as the hardest-working member of the Royal Family. A recent report from The Telegraph highlighted that she attended 457 engagements in the past year, making her the busiest royal for the third consecutive year, surpassing even King Charles, who attended 425 engagements.
