The concept of "The landscape before seeing a landscape painting and the landscape after seeing one are two different worlds" resonates deeply with Ruohan’s approach to fashion. They envision a future where garments are approached like a Chinese landscape painting—where clothing possesses a sense of duration, unfolding across various times and spaces. The Autumn/Winter series, unveiled in March, explored fundamental forms of clothing, revealing a subjective square-shaped form and setting the stage for their artistic journey. In September, Ruohan simplified surfaces into lines, seeking connections within the framework, system, and hidden structures. This chapter marks a progression towards rationality—a meticulous exploration of Ruohan Nie’s linear perspective of her cultural context, aptly termed as a perspective of connectivity. Lines, free from clear beginnings or ends, connect dimensions and reveal the essence of existence through continuous observation.
