Dua Lipas Chanel Wedding Gown Revealed: A Historic First for the French House

 

 

Handcrafted across the storied ateliers of Rue Cambon in Paris, the dress is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between the Maisons d’art Atelier Montex, Lemarié, and Lesage. It features 480,000 hand-embroidered details by Atelier Montex and intricate trompe-l’œil jewelry developed by Lesage, demanding a total of 1,155 hours of manual work. Adding to its dramatic silhouette, the gown incorporates 25,000 feathers applied entirely by hand by Lemarié and is finished with a two-meter train.

 

The look is crowned by a six-meter tulle veil, lavishly embroidered with bird and floral motifs in beads, feathers, and hand-cut organza appliqués. Its production alone required more than 3,000 hours of craftsmanship by Atelier Montex and Lemarié. Custom white satin heels by Massaro completed the ensemble.

 

The dress was worn by the singer for her wedding to actor Callum Turner, celebrated with an intimate London ceremony followed by a three-day event in Palermo, Italy. While Dua Lipa changed into multiple looks throughout the festivities, this Chanel design dominated fashion conversations worldwide. Chanel said it was an honor to dress the artist, noting that the gown reflects both her close relationship with the brand and a historic debut for Blazy.

 

For the celebration in Italy, Turner wore a bespoke black Louis Vuitton suit featuring a red flower appliqué on the chest. For the civil ceremony in London, he chose a classic navy blue suit by Ferragamo.
